You have to feel out your body. The problem with a lot of young people is overtraining and not knowing their doing it.
If your not gassing in class thats cool, but I promise (from experience) fighting is much more intense than training, you really need to push your cardio during training. If you do that and you feel that you still have a lot of energy to burn then you need to up your training in some region...
What I suggest is including sprints about 1 day a week instead of the 3 mile runs. Also (I'm assuming your training to fight MMA) you need to really work on those 5min rounds.
