What do you take?
What supplements are you taking? Anything you'd like to recommend? I'm in the market to get some different nutrtional supplements or even protein or vitamin pills. I'm taking some right now that a friend has recommended me, but its nothing spectacular, and I'm not necessarily impressed with the results...
I am considering just going back to good ole' protein shakes. I'm still drinking/making them, but not relying on them as much because I've converted to poppin' protein pills...which I've heard isn't exactly the healthiest thing you can do.
Any tips or recommendations?

I'm not big on pills, but during my very short time in MMA, I took OTC Magnesium tablets, as they are supposed to help relax and relieve pain in muscles. That's just for pain though, plus it's all natural.

Hmm. OTC Magnesium tablets. I think I've either read about them, or heard about them. Their just like tylenol pain killers...except for the people who work out right?
I've just been taking tylenol to help ease any soreness I have, but I'm not really sure it's really working, or if its just a placebo affect.
How come you aren't big into pills? Not your thing? Or you just never made the move?

I'm crazy.. don't have a very logical reason for it, but I'm just not really big on taking anything that alters me.. I don't drink or do drugs, and I rarely ever take a Tylenol or Advil.. I dunno..
Anyhow, the magnesium I believe is very mild; Tylenol/Advil, etc. would be much stronger. AFAIK, magnesium gets helps your muscles heal faster/relax better. It's supposed to be very mild.

Im not a big fan of pills, they are not federally regulated, so you really should do your research on the supplement before you start using it.

Trust me, your not crazy :P Any non-natural thing that you take can often cause a dependency for your body. When people take Tylenol for every pain and injury, eventually there body becomes so used to tylenol fixing it that your immunes system weakens.

I dont take any pills/supplements. Im always worried that taking these tablets may push my intake of that particular vitimin/protein over the edge. What I mean is I try to get my RDA from my food intake and by taking these supplements Im worried I will over do it and cause some damage long term.

There are two types of vitamins, one is broken down by water, so you need this daily. One example would be Vitamin C, you need this daily and it would be nearly impossible to overdose on it. On the other hand, Iron and Vitamin B6 (im not positive) is not broken down by water and you would need to watch your intake.

I don't like pills either...they resemble drugs too much. I think energy bills and protein pills would be safe though.

I just take multivitamins. I eat a balanced diet and get evereything I need from that. You shouldnt really need to take supplements - I only take vitamins to help keep my imunne system functioning properly
