I thought Werdum had earned his title shot and I don't know who's next for Nog if it ain't Werdum but this should be a great fight.
Vera has the better stand up but Werdum has an even bigger advantage on the ground IMO.
This is a good fight, glad to see the UFC putting together such strong cards of late.

i dont think werdum was worthy of a title shot yet. he lost to arlovski whos been out of the mix for a while and is fighting at the next event, i think if arlovski wins his upcoming fight he should fight kongo for nogs title. anyhow i think werdum could easily submit vera, giving his definete size advantage, also werdums striking is subpar but i can see him missing a lot of what vera has

yeah arlovski vs kongo probs wont happen as arlovski will probably leave after this next fight its the last on his contract then it leaves kongo vs werdum and then the winner definately deserves a shot imo

Dana publically stated that Werdum was the #1 contender.

It's a tough fight to call, I actaully want Werdum to win so Vera will finally move down to 205.

Exactly what I was thinking, Jamie. I like Vera a lot, but I would much rather see him at 205. And if getting his ass kicked is the only thing thats going to get him to make the move, then so be it.

Yeah Vera at 205 would be pretty scary. But im gonna go as far to say that i think Vera will beat Werdum for sure in this fight. He has alot more of a wrestling backround then people know, and Werdum doesn't have the best shot and his wrestling isn't anything to call home about. I think Vera will be able to keep this fight on the feet and pick Werdum apart with his superior striking.

I don't think that's going far at all. Vera can definately win this fight. I'm going to have to take your word on Vera's wrestling because honestly I don't know anything about it, but if that is the case then, yeah, I can see Vera knocking Werdum out standing, or at least out-pointing him for 3 rounds.

I see Vera beating Werdum also. The more I watch Werdum fight the more I think AA could have takin it to him a little more and been fine. I mean he looked pretty sloppy against Gonzaga and if Vera learned anything from that fight it's to throw leg kicks. Gonzaga is a heavy hitter but I think Vera is a much crisper striker and Werdum will be in for a world of trouble against him on the feet. On the ground Werdum has the better credentials but Vera is also a BJJ black belt. So we'll have to see. My prediction is Vera wins by TKO at the last minute in the 1st
