I like this fight and I'm taking Big Nog.

Those people who thought that Nog didn't look impressive in his UFC debut watched a different fight than I did. He had complete control of that fight, save for the head kick that rocked him, and was able to recover and continue to dominate Herring.

Now with the Sylvia fight, Nogueira is, in my opinion the better fighter, but he will definately have his hands full. Nog has beaten some pretty huge guys in his career, but I don't think anyone with the combination of size and striking ability that Tim has. Tim will probably be Nog's toughest opponent in the division.

However, Nog has solid boxing which I think will be enough to be able to clinch and get a sweep or whatever to take him down. I think he will be the more active fighter, should it go to a decision, so I can see him taking it by UD or by sub.

I'm going with Nog by vicious armbar in the 3rd.

I think Sylvia is in a lot of trouble when he steps into this fight. He wont be able to knock nog out or submit him for that matter. Unless he applys the same broing game plan and drills the 5 for a 5 round lackluster decision he doesnt have much of a chance in this fight. Nog has him beat in all aspects.

IM gonna say 3rd round triangle

Thats a good question...you would think after being a boring champion for a while they wouldn't consider him until he won some fights with excitement or impressive fashion(which hes done neither).

I just think the ufc feels that they need a HW champion. And once again it plays into the marketing scheme, Tim is well known and is a former champion so why not give him a shot at the belt a make a few bucks.

But IMO Kongo and Arlovski or more deserving at this time for a title shot.

IMO this is a really tought fight for Nogueira if it does happen. I see Cheick Fighting Tim first like, but i'll carry on anyway...

Nogueira isn't the greatest of takedown artists, phenomenal Jiu Jitsu but pretty poor wrestling. Sylvia has really good take down defence (Nog is unlikely to use Greco-Roman style takedowns which Sylvia fared poorly with against Couture.), he's long, rangy, strong and just a pain in the arse. If Nog does get it to the mat I think he can finish Sylvia, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Sylvia get a decision. Saying that I would make Nogueira the favourite.

yeah jamie i honestly could see sneaky boring tim steal a decision but i dont think big nog would let him. i think nog does a better job of imposing his will than tim there for thats why i see him getting it by sub. reguardless of how it will get to the ground of if he is on top or bottom

Wow that's going to be a good fight.

I have Minotauro in this fight, but it's going to take a lot of work on both parts in preparation.

i think big nog should take this in the first or second round. honestly now adays i think upsets happen almost every event so maybe tim is in great shape and works a good guard. either way imho i think nog should be able to pass tim's best defense and submit him in the first or second
