The writer makes strong points, but theres also strong points against him. I mean hes right you can't take anything away from his past accomplishments. But when you stop and look in the future, theres only so many fighters he can face to remain at the top. But regardless of who he beats its all a matter of opinion. It shouldn't matter who he faces just a matter of his skill set and what you know of how good he really is.

Yeah but rankings in MMA are done by who you win against(much like BCS in college football)...if Fedor proceeds to fight a bunch of newcomers then he could easily drop out of the top 10 within seconds...

Here's a tough one that can't be beaten:

Michael Jordan is pretty much the greatest basketball player of all time.....is he the #1 basketball player right now?

The prosecution rests.

I also don't concider Fedor the best HW out there right now. And I've said this before his last GOOD fight was his beating Cro Cop in a very amazing fight. But other than that you can't count Coleman to Lindland as competitors to keep you a #1 fighter in the world. But Randy beat Gonzaga who I felt was completely over rated and Sylvia who is not the top HW either. So I think maybe Nog as #1? I think Herring is a much better HW to boost your ranking than Lindland.

Rankings shmankings.

I consider Fedor the best fighter in the world until someone beats him. He can face scrubs for the rest of his career and he won't be ranked #1 but in my eyes he's still the best.

kobe is young as shit still and already is just a tad bit behind mj in the years to come kobe and l. james could be better though. anyway to the thread i think its stupid to say fedor is not still the best. who's anyone trying to joke. i mean before dana said oh i think randy could take him bla bla bla the main point is that although randy is one of the bests thats just it, he isnt THE best. i mean people its not even been a year since he fought mark hunt, who dana called "just some kickboxer" lol. unprofessional dickhead has complete lack of respect to the athletes in his sport not in his org. because after the hunt fight he fought lindland. lol funny another mma fighter who left the UFC with a bad taste in his mouth. IMO dana is just picking favorites because before dana had signed jackson he had last fought lindland.. and won but honestly not impressively at all. so to say fedor is not the best is just stupid. his record is still nearly perfect in all mma, not even to mention the calibre of opponents they were. i cant wait until someone fights fedor again because he is one of my favs fighters of all time and there will be no doubt he is the best. there have been rumors of potential fights with barnett, monson and rizzo but nothing booked yet

LOL come on now. coleman is a huge and extremely strong guy and HUGE threat to randy as barnett. wonder why dana never signed them? also i know the size difference is pretty huge for a MW to fight a HW and to go from 185-225 but lindland has said he has no problem with it and honestly if you have ever watched the fight between them lindland wasnt doing awful. i still dont consider him a real contender at HW that being said i still would not consider lindland a stepping stone for fedor
