Default Arlovski on the prelims

UFC® : Ultimate Fighting Championship®

Bummer. They put Diego who has lost 2 in a row on the main card fighting a can but put Arlovski on the undercard. Is this the UFC phasing Arlovski out?

people asked the same thing about John Fitch who after winning 5 in a row and featured on a fight night live event was put on the undercard. It's very possible Arlovski leaves and joins m-1 or some other heavyweight fetured orginization. And if he did that would be a big loss of talent to the UFC. But it's also possible that he wins in spectacular fashion and re-negotiates his contract into something that the UFC agrees on and we see him fight a big name soon. Just depends.

I also think part of it beyond the fact that he may leave is that he's not the same fighter he once was. Before his back to back losses to Tim Sylvia he was an aggressive and exciting fighter.
Since then he's been gun shy and it fighting to not lose rather than fighting to win.
I love seeing AA fight but he's been a disappointment of late IMO.

It comes down to the fact, that even though hes had some lack luster fighters, so has Sylvia who is featured on every main card and even given another title shot. At this point they just aren't showing Arlovski the respect he deserves, regardless of his performance. So we may soon see him leave to another organization.

Other than his fight with Timmah he had 1 lack luster fight, and it was against a very game Werdum who was ranked JUST under him in the top 10. People don't ever talk about Forrest Griffon having lack luster fights but he did against Hector Ramirez after his loss to Keith Jardine, he just out pointed Hector and got booed. AA's fight against Marciano Cruz was great! he KO'd the guy from a sitting position. It ended in the first round at like 2 minutes. It was a great aggresive AA. His fight against Werdum he had to be cautious because it was still real new seeing Pride guys come over to the UFC and that was the same night that Gabriel Gonzaga ko'd Cro Cop. Pride guys hadn't came over and lost their asses yet. So there could be a level of uncertainty with Arlovski vs Werdum and they played it safe.

People talk about AA being borring to watch now or his killer instinct gone or what ever. Watch all the fights, he's the same aggresive fighter, just the competition picked up.

I believe Arlovski is still ranked in the top 10 for HW's and his contract is still for another 3 fights I'm pretty sure.

This is the last fight on Andreis deal, it's well documented he wants to fight before signing a new deal, the UFC disagrees.

Think that Dana is trying to make AA show him the old dominating AA. He wants AA to go for the knockout then he might offer him another contract and a title shot of Tim rematch who knows. Did want to be able to see AA fight again regardless.

Isn't Okami signing with another organization after this fight? I thought I read something like that a while back. If so, why would they put him on the main card? But I can't believe the undercard fights, Kos, Sanchez, AA... all big name guys on the short end of the stick, maybe has something to do with their last fights though.

IMO, the ufc is just stacked this card way to much, instead of spreading it out, they have 7 out 9 fights that are all material to be on the telivised portion. But i think the ufc knows there a good chance that fighters like Diego and Kos will end there fights. But Arlovski is still up in the air.
