of course silly, The best mma fighters are always doing boxing training.
Small example: If anybody knows martial arts history with boxing would know that Bruce Lee when he developed (Jeet Kune Do which is the first mma) He took boxing forms from Muhammad Ali and Foot work,Not only that mma is famous for its mui tai boxing Name me some mui tai boxers or people in mma that train in mui tai, Its actually a essential art (Boxing) to actually learn.
You will get a good reaction speed when you spar as Well.I put mui tai in as example too because its an art that has been around hundereds of years and is one of the most lethal MArts out there its basically boxing with kicks which if you turn on the tv and watched a mma fight you will see majority of fights standing and fighters exchanging punches.

Sorrry Im abit late on this post but boxing is DEFINATLEY worth it ive been training in boxing for a long time now and it is 1 of the best martial arts out there in terms of gaining experiance and confidence. It teaches you much more than just technique which can also be said for many other arts but I felt boxing is unique it really helped with fitness and fight mentality. As when you start training you will probably spar frequentley and as I found this was one of the best experiances an MMA fighter can have. Unlike other MA boxing really does show you what your made of so I definatley reccomend it.

If you have the time and money, why not? Do you train in anyother stand up? If so I wouldent recomend it if you have been training less then a year, you may get the two confused.

Not only that, you need at least a day if you're not fighting professionally to take a day and recover if you're grappling. The cardio in boxing is mind blowing, and helps your hand work tremendously.

Accuracy and Cardio are key in striking.

I was in boxing for 3 years, training under Kirk Johnson's father, it is well worth the time and effort, as it will improve cardio, and strength. If you're a good learner, you could have decent standup in a couple years.
