i think sean will keep the belt only because of randy leaving,they already have 1 belt vacant they can't handle 2 vacant belts.

I think the UFC would rather have BJ as there LW chapion anyways. SHerk is a cheater and deserves to have his belt stripped form him.

I dont know about that, its not up to the UFC to wether he is suspended or not. Its all on the athletic comission and 9 out of 10 fighters are normally suspended.

well today is the day that decides who faces bj for the title.seans defence team has a good plan, they're going to say that a combination of the legal supliments that sean took my have unknowingly made him test positive.all i know is i hope sean keeps his belt.

You don't understand Titan, it has nothing to do with Dana white, the feritta's, or anybody in the ufc. If the athletic comission suspends him for 9 months Dana's forced to take his belt away because they can't have a vacant lw belt for 9 months just wont happen.

no i'm saying i hope he is found inocent, not that he gets suspended and keeps his belt,but anyway they have delaid the trail until 11-13-07 because of new evidence from seans defence team.

turns out sherk will remain champion. on UFCDaily.com they said that Dana announced that Sherk will remain the champion regardless of the ruling of the commission, and BJ and Stevenson fight in december for the interm lightweight championship. I was more interested to see Sherk fight Penn but hopefully if this mess gets cleared up at some time we'll still see that fight. Altho I think Joe Daddy has a great ground game I really think it'll be Penn's standup that determines who dominates the positioning in this fight.

i just heard the news, sean keeps his belt no matter what and bj will fight stevenson at ufc 80 for the interim title.

What has BJ Penn done at LW the past 4 years? I'm a fan of his but come on now.....BJ imo is the most buttered up UFC fighter. He's the Randy Couture of the LW division..given the title shot just cuz he is available and popular.
