In a recent interview, Aleksander Emelianenko spoke of his plans to move to the UFC.

Emelianenko disclosed that his management are currently in negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and are working on getting him a multi-fight contract that could see him fighting for the UFC Heavyweight title soon.

Aleksander said that he wants to fight the best the UFC has to offer. On facing the current UFC Heavyweight champion, Tim Sylvia, the Russian said:

“Tim is a good fighter, but... let's just say that if I get the opportunity to fight him, I will take his title away with pleasure.”

Aleksander inferred that he wanted to step out of his brother, Pride Heavyweight Champion, Fedor Emelianenko's shadow in Pride and make a name for himself.

Aleksander said that both he and Fedor’s goal is to proudly carry on the family name for years to come. Aleksander said that wants to win the UFC Heavyweight Title and then fight for many years to come. He also predicts that Fedor will remain undefeated until he retires, by that time their little brother Ivan Emelianenko, who the pair are personally training in Grappling, Sambo and Boxing, will be ready to take over.



Personally I think this is a great move for Aleks, he's a young mean fighter who's fought the best fighters in the world and I do see him taking Tim's belt, Aleksander is definetly deserving of a top 5 heavyweight spot, and to see him fight Arlovski is a fight that I'd never thought I'd get to see.

Great news! I will keep my finger's crossed. I have wanted this for as long as I can remember. It only makes sense, with Fedor ruling the Pride heavyweight division for him to go to UFC and do the same, since they will not fight one another.

This is some of the best new ive heard in a while, i think he could definently give sylvia a run for his money and could quite possibly see it happening, with the quotes said in that post, it seems very likley that this switch could definently be happening and if ill be very excited to see what happens

Tim Sylvia actually knew about this a long time ago and that's why he always wears his belt everywhere he goes. He knows Aleks will take it at soon as he gets their. lol.

But seriously that would be awesome. The UFC deffinetly needs more depth at HW. I hope this happens.

this is great news. the ufc heavyweight division isnt impressive at all. i really like watching arlovski. i hate watching sylvia, but he is pretty good at knocking people out. aleksander should have no problem taking the division as it stands now.

oh hell yeah!!! make way for the champ. aleksander will rule the heavyweight division in the ufc. tim sylvia doesn't have a prayer. and if he doesn't have a prayer, no one else in the division can beat emelianenko either. team miletich is going to be really bummed out when hughes loses his belt to gsp, and then aleksander comes and takes away tim's belt. there will be a lot of boo whooing going on. but thats ok, looks good on those cocky s.o.b.'s.

Styles make fights, and I think nearly everybody Alex fights will be great to watch.

As much as I don't like watching Syvlia fight, I think this would be exciting. Also if he fought Arlovski or even Kongo, it would be exciting. Dana needs to make this happen.
