Doesn't make much sense...

And i said i don't think Crocop was on steroids, i would just have him fight here where all fighters are tested, making the competition 100 percent clean. And i dont think theres competition for him overseas, all top 10 HW, like Nogueira, Sylvia, AA,Werdum, and Gonzaga are here where he needs to be.

And Robert you say what you want about Dana and the UFC running a crap business. But then explain to me the reason why Pride collapsed? There was obviously something going on there deep within in which none of us know. As far as im concerned, being unbiest because i love mixed martial arts(no pride vs ufc debate), but as far as im concerned the UFC is still standing strong on there feet with most of the top fighters in the world.

And who is to say that the pride LW's are better then the UFC's at this point, i can recall Gomi coming to the U.S. and being tooled by a fighter(nick diaz) who was never even close to a championship in the ufc. As of mixed martial arts in general we just can't make judgement on fighters who haven't competed against others in different organizations.
Prides collapse was because everyone found out that they were actually run by the Yakuza (Japanese Mafia) or they had connections with them. THis doesn't go over well. Not to mention UFC was at the height of their popularity at the time.

Im not saying the UFC isnt doing well. Im saying they arent doing enough to move the sport along. If the UFC wasnt so stubborn we would have already gotten to see Randy fight Fedor and Liddell fight Wanderlei 2 years ago when it should have happened.

Dana and the UFC are just being greedy, and that is why they bought Pride in the first place, because they have done nothing with it since purchasing it, other than sign a few of the fighters.

The UFC needs to start signing open contracts, thats basically all im saying. That way we can have UFC fighters fighting in M-1 and Dreams and vice versa. Then we will get to see who the best fighter really is. No more of this constant speculation.

As for the Dreams organization itself i really cant wait for there first show. Hopefully withing a year or so they have signed alot more fighters.

dreams will be good and i personally dont care who has the best fighters but who is putting on the best shows. you dont have to align yourself with a specific promotion.

I agree to an extent. I liked Pride as much as I liked the UFC. They both offered something unique.
I hated the Pride nuthuggers who acted so elite on forums and still constantly bash Dana and the UFC.
To me the UFC has done so much for the sport it's absurd to decry every little perceived failing.
Pride put on the great grand prix's but protected their champs by feeding them non-title worth contenders.

Dreams will be great but the idea of having one top league with all of the best fighters appeals to me more than having a reoccurence of boxing with alphabet soup belts and various champs at a weight class.

I mean if half of the top players in the NBA played in Europe, it would devalue the NBA IMO. Same thing applies to MMA, I'd like to see the best fighters all under one house. Dana had the chance but stubbourness and pride got in the way I believe some on his part, some on the fighters part and it didn't happen.

The UFC has brought the UFC into the public eye by starting a reality show. THey in no way have helped out MMA, only themselves. They have stated before that they won't join with any other promotions and wont sign open contracts. Every single other organization out there is under some type of alliance which allows fighters to compete in other organizations.

The UFC needs to open their doors to other promotions fighters/champions to compete against their fighters and vice versa, otherwise we will wind up with th boxing alphabet soup champions like Reaped said.

sure they've helped the sport, without UFC becoming more main-stream and seen these other orgs wouldn't be able to survive if the fanbase was still as small as it was 5 years ago. Obviously they've done it to help their brand but it has helped the sport as well. They're also working hard to get regulation in states/countries that don't currently have it so they can put on a UFC show but after that is accomplished, other mma promotions can go into these places as well.

The UFC is like the NBA or NFL, why do they need to cross promote? You don't see Kobe Bryant playing for FIBA.

I do think it'd be great to see, but if their champions start to lose to other champions it only lowers their value and raises others. If the UFC champs win, well they're supposed to. The UFC gains nothing by fighting outside of their org.
I'd prefer one org to have all of the top fighters and have the best fight the best under one brand. The obvious choice is the UFC, but they had a shot to do that and fumbled the ball IMO.
Dreams will never be huge in the U.S. because it's not an American product.

It was a solid show in the end.

It's always nice to see Mirko win, but I was a bit embarrased watching the fight. Mizuno had no place being in the ring with Mirko, i'll let it slide seeing as it was such short notice, as long as he fights a real quality fighter next (Sergei please ).

Joachim Hansen looked phenomenal both standing and on the ground. He really impressed me.

That part above was brilliant, he was just screaming and walking toward him, he then dropped him just after that.

JZ Vs Aoki was a let down. I was expecting a great fight and for it to end the way it did was dissapointing.

Overall it was a decent show. A good start for the company, i'm looking forward to seeing what they can do in the future. I personally am looking most forward to the MWGP. That's going to be mint.

Yep it turned out to be a good show.

I was disappointed in Andre Dida. I really thought he was going to beat Alvarez up good. He's got to work on his ground game, his guard was getting passed by Alvarez basically at will, and he just got tooled by Gn'P. Bummer.

Joachim Hansen looked amazing. He dominated that fight standing and on the ground. His jiu-jitsu looked really good, good transitions, etc. Very impressive.

Mirko did his thing, LoL. He basically beat the trash out of a dude that shouldn't have been in there in the first place. I thought Mirko's use of knees was pretty cool and the shots he threw at the end were hard as hell. Just glad to see him get a "W", even if it was against a tomato can.

Aoki vs JZ was a let down. Hopefully they will rematch at the next Dream.

All in all it was a good show and looking forward to the next one.
