since zuffa bought pride and is shifting their weight classes to match the ufcs,they are going to need some welter weights and a champ.my questions are :how will they decide who will be the new welter weight champ and if they just put the best 2 guys close to 170 in a fight to decide who will be the welter weight champ who would those 2 be?

What Pride would usually do is have a tournament over a coupke of events to decide who wit would be. I would loveto see that.
What Zuffa will probably do though is the same kind of hting they did with the LW division in hte UFC. Have WW fights on 3 or 4 PPV's then take the 2 that are most deserving and they fight for the title.
I think they will have prides LW's and UFC's ww weights meet at 165 or something like that, pride has some big lw already, gomi, sakurai, melendez, diaz so it wont be hard to make that transitiion.
