Default Combat Sambo Champion of Russia

Russian Combat Sambo Championships took place in Ulan-Ude, Buryat Republic, Russia from February 8 to 11, which was attended by more than 200 samboists from 38 regions of Russia, including samboists from the republics of Karelia, Komi, Kalmykia, Adygeya, North Ossetia-Alania, from Vologda, Novgorod, Murmansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and other areas, as well as from Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Belgorod region was represented by multiple times world Combat Sambo Champion from Stary Oskol Fedor Emelianenko and his teammates -Combat Sambo World Champion Dmitry Samoilov (weight category up to 82 kg) and Junior Combat Sambo Champion of Russia in December 2006 (weight category up to 100 kg) Kiril Sidelnikov.

In the first fight Fedor met with Rinat Kurbanov from Krasnoyarsk, and won on the first minute by submission to the arm. Another arm submission won Emelianenko his second battle with Armen Arustamov from Moscow. In the finals Fedor was to fight Maxim Novosiolov from Chelyabinsk. However, since in the previous battle Maxim has suffered a broken arm, the final bout did not take place, and the Gold was awarded to Fedor Emelianenko.

With regard to Fedor`s junior teammates -Dmitry Samoilov and Kiril Sidelnikov, both placed only fourth. And Kiril suffered a serious injury -a broken arm, and now he will not be able to participate in the April tournament Russia vs. America.
