I've just trained in Tae Kwon Do. But it was a while ago. I have a friend who does Karate.

I've trained in none. I enjoy watching them on films and live demonstrations. I also like watching people spar. I have a lot of respect for people who dedicate time to this.

I doubt that the majority of these posters are telling the truth but anyway; I've trained in arnis, kickboxing, and I did a month of wrestling during high school P.E.

Why would they lie?

Anyway, I did a few months of just MMA training. Also did Karate for a month or so as a kid, it's a bit patehtic really. I wish i'd have stuck at the MMA.

I have trained very breifly (about 1 month) in Goju Sobudokai Karate. Then during a stint in college I trained for a semester in Tae Kwon Do. Then for years nothing. Then in 2005 just as the UFC was blowing up again I was looking to get back into martial arts. I would've trained in anything traditional or otherwise. It just so happens that the closest martial arts school to my home is an mma school. Its called Mid America Martial Arts. At the school I study Kickboxing, No gi Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kun Do, and Escrima (Philipino weapons and trapping).

I've studied 9 years of Kenpo with mostly striking, and a little Shorin-Ryu katas and stances. I'm currently getting started with Muay Thai and Kickboxing.

I'm 15 almost 16 right now, so I have a lot of time to study more arts before I start competing.

Haha yea, I started with the basics when I was around 4, Chuck Norris was my idol.

Everytime I google something for MMA I come across a topic on the forums, so I figured I join, get some tips, discuss the fight cards and what not.

Thanks for the welcome man, looking forward to posting on the forums.

I would say look at my signature but that wouldn't be too nice.

Sophomore year in high school I started boxing and wrestling. Did the Folkstyle throughout the year and the Greco-Roman/Freestyle tournaments in Summer.

Golden Gloves was an AMAZING experience. Made it to state a couple of times but never did anything spectacular.

Moved on to "MMA" gyms after high school and was thankful that they didn't just throw me in a cage. So I equally learned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and furthered my stand up with Muay Thai. Entered quite a few Submission Wrestling tournaments too.

Got to a new gym now, and full time MMA training. Strength and conditioning as well as ground work four days a week, stand up four days a week, and all out sparring three to five days a week.

For something extra I have spent the last year or so looking into the power principles of Wing Chun and the purely self defense tactics of Krav Maga.
