Default How much do MMA trainers make?

With money being a large part of what I do for a living, I can't help but wondering how much various things cost and how much people make.

How much do you think professional MMA trainers make? People like Marc Laimon and the such. I have absolutely no idea, but I'm assuming around $250,000 USD a year.

Anyone have any ideas?

I wouldn't be suprised if it was a quarter of a million a year. If you think about it, some really good trainers can charge up to $200.00 an hour. Even on a 4 hour day, that's $800 a day...5 days a week...

Let's do some math...

That's about $208,000...on a 20 hour week.

That's a hell of a lot of money for doing 20 hours a week. I guess I"m in the wrong profession Then again, how many trainers actually charge that much? I guess even at $100.00 an hour, that comes out to be 104,000 which is pretty darned good also.

That's quite a hefty income. Especially for doing something you love. Maybe I'll go off and do something like that. Hell, I'd be fine with charging $75.00 an hour and just doing it part time.

Im not suprised at all at these figures. A lot of the trainers are very professional. I haven't had the luxury of affording one yet, but I feel that learning by yourself is better.

You develop your own style, and a sense of originality and accomplishment. You don't want to be your trainer's mini-me do you? Especially if he's teaching the same stuff to 10 other local guys?

It isn't about becoming your trainer's "mini-me". But what it does have, is them teaching you the experience and technique that you can learn from.

Who else to learn from but the best? Or those that have experience that you'll never experience yourself?

"That's about $208,000...on a 20 hour week."

Then you consider they're porbally working for a lot more than 20 hours a week.

Wow.
