That's exactly why WWE watchers despise watching UFC and MMA.

In comparison to boxing, even kickboxing and muay thia (which is pretty brutal) UFC has the 'bloody edge' to it. It's a real sport, real contact, real fighters. Nothing is fake or over hyped.

WWE and UFC cannot be brought into the same argument.

WWE is full of actors, UFC is full of fighters, end of discussion.

WWE is TERRIBLE. I absolutely hate it and hearing that word makes me cringe. People love it, and that is what pisses me off even more.

"Acting" a fight, and terrible acting at that, is a disgrace to our community and our way of life.

The only reason I'd ever watch it are for the ladies with aftermarket breasts who strut their stuff around the screen and try to look like bad asses.

ugh.

Pretending the Martial arts, fighting, sparring, and defensive combat goes against anything that I have ever been taught. It is actually a disgrace to watch.

Not to mention cheesy as hell, and so boring.

Couldn't agree more.

I think it's sad that an organisation so big can profit and benefit from faking something as real life and serious as martial arts practise. Then again, they wouldn't be so big without it.

Now, this isn't news to us, how many people pass judgement on something they know little about. However, how do you think the general public views MMA? Do you think they view it as highly technical and skilled or just big brawlers battling each other out to a bloody mess? Do you think they think it's a lot more dangerous than it is, and that it's not closely regulated?
The problem is not the "official" and popular tournament cagefighting, it's the back ally, very small cagefighting that is the barbaric sport. These are the same people that you saw killing each other while mimicking wrestling in their back yards.

But i think professional MMA is a very clean sport, these guys train hard and it is way more practical than boxing.

Regarding the WWE...

I don’t hear much about it anymore, but back in High School it was mentioned weekly. I remember hating how people would say things like, “Hey, did you see [INSERT NAME] kick [INSERT NAME]’s butt over the weekend? That was insane!” I remember mentioning to these people that these "fights" were preplanned; none of it was real. They would generally just brush off that fact and continue worshipping their favorite person. It was like they didn't grasp the concept of it all being acted out and not real.

Heheh WWE, i don't get how some people managed to believe it was real, it was so obvious but they still believed it.

I think a lot of times it's just people's ignorance. They know that it is fake, but they choose to believe that it is somewhat real so that they have something to watch.

It's sort of like religious people beliving god is real, as opposed to fake.
