I think it's a good idea. Personally I think some self defence techniques are more important than silly things like Algebra.

If someone try's to start something on the street, the first thing to do is walk away. If you are cornered and there is nowhere to run, I seriously don't think Algebra is going to help you out.

I think it would be good. Any type of exercise in schools would be nice, kids now dont even have to take PE in high school if they dont want to. More computer courses and less physical activitiy in schools is making the world fatter and fatter.

that's a great idea. they could teach some self defence, to protect yourself against bullies, and other people who try to rough you up. they could teach them in gym class. it might also teach some of these little bastards some respect.

lol.

I think teaching martial arts in secondary schools will have its ups and downs.

Some Ups:
Teaches Students discipline
Teaches them respect
Teaches them how to defend themselves
Will give them new friends

Some Downs:
Cost, the students will need liciences and insurance incase they hurt themselves.
It may cause the opposite of friends and cause grudges, students will actually use their abilities on eachother to actually do damage.
Students WILL get hurt at some point, this will cause parents to complain.

There are plenty of reasons for it, and plenty of reasons against it.. but me personally like reignofterror said ... in his own way.. just leave the martial arts to the people who go to clubs and those who specifically want to learn martial arts.
