Default Need assistance identifying a fight

Hi folks,

I remember seeing ages ago a fight that absolutely astounded me. I think it was an old Japanese Bushido fight.
I am not sure who the participants were but they were two big heavyweights. I think one had short blonde hair. From memory I think they both had scores to settle with each other.

Anyway at the start of the fight they just go toe to toe and hammer each other in the faces relentlessly. After a short time they find themselves in a corner where they continue to trade punches to the face. Neither of them tries to block the others punches. It;s purely and simply a war of attrition. Both their faces are black and blue pretty quickly and they are both swollen and misshaped (no wonder considering the force and frequency of the punches.)

I cant quite remember how it ended but it lasted less than a round. I think one of them finally got the upper hand. I am trying to track it down so I can relive the experience.

If anyone recognizes the fight from my description or even has an idea who the fighters were I'd love it if you could help me find it somewhere or let me know who I should be looking for.

Would appreciate any help I get.

Thanks.

I think that fight is on the PRIDE 21 or PRIDE 22 card. And that WAS a brawl for the ages.

That fight really was a one of a kind fight for Profesional MMA. Reminded me of an old school hockey fight.

Posibly the worst fight in mma history.

yea, deeefinitely frye vs takayama. it's on youtube, i think and various other places. I watch that fight and just crack up. No style, no technique and later interviews with frye reveal that his 'stache was the secret to his power. then again, don frye attributes everything to his 'stache.

great fight, though..possibly the worst in the history of 'technique' but in all out action...just freaking awesome. I mean, If takayama had a shirt on, i could totally see frye pulling it over his head to tie him up so frye could keep punching him.
