I train Muay Thai at Master Toddy's here in Vegas. I pay 125 a month for that and it's strictly Muay Thai kickboxing, not full out MMA. Theres a couple gyms around here that teach Boxing/Muay Thai/BJJ, that cost like 100 a month, but Master Toddy is world reknown for his Muay Thai. Forrest Griffin's Muay Thai trainer Mark Beecher trains at Master Toddy's, So does Gina who fights for EliteXC and other orgs. Also he has trained several world champions in muay thai. So I go there. But yeah expect to be tired, and your feet take a HUGE beating, more so than the rest of your body really, so take good care of your feet.

I trained MMA for a short while during the holidays, but I started working. I'm looking to get back into it some time soon. It was fairly cheap for me, you could join the gym the fight team trained at and the training was free, or you could just pay £4.00 a session.

Anyway, if you want to train MMA try and find a gym that is specific for MMA that train all aspects, Wrestling, Muay Thai, BJJ, Conditioning etc, then I suggest that you do that. Don't go and train at 2-3 seperate gyms, one doing BJJ, one doing MT and so on.

All so, if you are still at school, try and join the wrestling team, we have nothing like that over here but it's a real good base, a lot of real successfull MMA fighters have come from being straight wrestlers and learning the other bits and pieces like Couture, Hughes, Koscheck, Coleman (Not learned too much of the other thing, but still ) and a lot of others. Rich Franklin has said he wished he joined his HS wrestling team when he was at school.

Good luck mate and keep us updated.

I trained at revolution fight team and am going back in a couple weeks to start again. They way they had is set up was totally different thena i expected. I cant remember exactly what the schedule was but out of a whole month it worked out to about 20 classes if you went to all you could and even more if you wnet to sunday drop ins and what not.

The classes were split up something like this

Jui Jitsu one da, starting with kids first, then women, then mens.

Next day would be kickboxing and Muay Thai, same order.

Next day boxing

also they did MMA classes aswell as Wrestling.

Kickboxing/ Muay THai classes were my favourites. They started with some stretching and light jogging to get the blood flowing. THen we would skip for 5 minutes at a time witha 1 minute break. We would usually do that for about 25 minutes or so and then you throw on some boxing gloves. At my gym there are 5 heavy bags, 3 of the taller heavy bags, a speed bag, a double end bag and out trainer would have the full body punch pads on. You line up and go throug hall the station, 5 minutes on and 1 minute off. THen you move to the next bag, or to the trainer.

After that you would break down into pairs and work on clinch and clinch escapes. When you first start you spend alot, alot of time on deefense and learning how to block. It was frustrating at first because i would think id have it figured out and my trainer would always be able to catch me not defending.

After that everything is pretty much done, cool down takes at least 20 minutes and usually involves some kind of crazy cardio exercise.

Cheers

So it was quite a variety of stuff you learn. That way is good if you want to learn MMA but if yo uare interested in Muay THai or Jui Jitsu i would reccomend just going to a Jui Jitsu or Muay THai gym.

You will probably spend roughly $100 a month, and it is well worth the $.
