Default Your Favorite Takedown ?

This can apply to anyone, whether you roll or not.

If you have ever rolled/sparred with anyone, what is your favorite way to take someone down?

If not, what is your favorite takedown to watch?

Persoanlly, I like the upper body clinch into a Greco style throw, directly into side mount, if possible. That is what works best for me, being that I am a somewhat tall guy and my sparring partner's are not so tall.

Trying for a single or double leg shoot doesn't work to well most of the time. Also the fact that I am pretty heavy set, I am not the fastest guy when it comes to shooting in on them.

My favorite to watch in action are definitely big Matt Hughes style slams and Judo style hip tosses though.

I love when Karo or Fedor pulls off a Judo toss. You dont see them often and when they happen there very exciting, its amazing that all they need is to grab your arm and they can toss you wherever.

I also like the classic Greco Roman toss, Henderson does it the best, just grabs the lower back squeezes and tosses, or drives you down to the mat.

After watching Couture Vs Syvlia, then double leg is definately my favourite.

i like to watch the slams and suplexs. they are the most exciting in my books. that one randleman pulled off on fedor was great. and rampage and hughes have a few. but my favourite one to use is the double leg.

You know me bro. I would rather pull guard than use energy trying to get a takedown by other means. It sets me up perfect to go for submissions and I like working from my back more than trying to get to side mount or mount from the top.

When I do go for a regular takedown it is usually a single though. Shoot for the single and then use one of my legs to trip the guys other free leg.

The double leg gives me the most feeling of control but I still love the old Cotoure style body clinch, lift and slam. It helps to break your opponent down mentally.

I my self love putting people in rear naked joke,But I got to say guilitine for me when im laying down and got the person in my guard. That is an awsome feeling joke the crap out of someone.I rather do that than knocking someone out. LOL !!! Nah im just kidding LOL!!

My favorite take down would be a simple scoop and slam something like bisping and titos.

double leg with a nasty slam. simple and very effective as you saw when gray maynard would have won the fight with that alone if he didnt KO himself in the process.

i like the clinch work and judo tosses. i think its just such an awesome sport. really gives people the edge that others wouldnt have in certain times. i mean a sick judo toss could completely turn a fight around.

scissor takedowns are my favorite. They just work form so many angles and positions. It makes the other fighter look silly and its open leg lock season for you.
