I like the traction that the wrestling shoes provide, but I usually go with the barefeet.

I train barefoot. But I noticed that if you train barefoot your feet build up and toughen up. You also get used to that freedom and after a while it feels weird if you do put shoes on. It just might hurt for a few times at first but just work through it.
