My hands get ripped up by the bars in the gym...but I still don't wear gloves. Something about it just seems kind of sissy to me (perhaps because the first 10-20 people I saw wearing gloves were wussy) Anyone else agree?
Nah i dont think gloves are wussy at all. If you need the gloves then you need the gloves simple as. Id say its wussy to be worried about what people will think if you wear the gloves. Just get a pair dude
Hey I wear gloves when I lift - you calling me a wuss? LOL no seriously I want to focus on my technique and getting the most out of every lift so any distraction - like my hands being cut to bits - I want to avoid - gloves solve that problem so I can focus on my lifting!
I'd rather be a wussy than having my hands being destroyed, don't think too much about what other people might think about you, just wear them to avoid damage to your hands.
I wear gloves all the time. I wear it when I fight, and when I work out. A lot of times I wear it when I work out so I can prevent blisters from poppin up, plus it gives me a much better grip.
I don't know who told ya gloves are synonmous with being a wussy, but they are definitely wrong.
I wear gloves to fight and to work out also. I wear gloves for the same reason as Rogue, mainly for better grip, and to help stay away from calluses (spelling) and blisters. Plus, ya can stay away from germs
I use gloves often. A lot of times when I spar we are required to wear gloves. I also wear gloves whenever I work out, simply because I don't like gripping the bar without them.
I wear gloves often also. I like to use it for the extra grip, as well as the sanitation purposes at my gym. I also use gloves for boxing and sparring.
It could've just been a coincidence that the people you saw with gloves were wusses. I used to use gloves all the time when I boxed and sparred. I wouldn't want to spar without one.
