Default Bowflex?

Does anyone have a BowFlex? I am considering getting one. At the moment I have a membership at my local gym, and I'm paying $50.00 a month for it (yea, its a nice gym).

But, with all that money, and the hassle of having to drive somewhere just to get some nice weights is starting to get to me. I'm not exactly the richest guy out there and its difficult to afford a cost like that.

So I am looking into getting a BowFlex. Is it worth its 4 digit price tag? Does anyone have it? Does it work well for you?

I don't have a BowFlex but from the reviews I've read from it, it's a decent machine. But it isn't worth the heavy price tag.

A couple of my friends have it, and its not a bad work out machine. The reason I've kept my gym membership is because I like the atmosphere, and I like having made friends. Plus, I can always jump in the jacuzzi and sauna when I am finished. Not exactly something I can do at home.

On top of that, I the type of person that if I find out I can do it in my basement, I'll probably just get too lazy and stop doing it as much. Driving out to the gym after work or school is perfect for me and fits into my schedule.

There are different BowFlex models, so if you aren't comfortable with putting down 4 digits, you can get away with getting a basic model for 600 or so.

Thanks Bryan. I actually didnt know that BowFlex offered different models. Perhaps I should've done a little more research.

I'm actually not a lazy person so I'm sure I'd get my money's worth. Its just that $50.00 is a little to much for me right now. I'm trying my best though to see how everything works out regarding financial things and see where I can take things too...

I've heard a lot of people say what you pointed out. That its just a DECENT machine at best, and isn't worth all the money. I can live without the gym atmosphere though. A lot of people at my gym at snobby and dont like to open up to ANYONE.

I have a BowFlex and I absolutely HATE IT. It's OK, but like Bryan mentioned, its barely worth the money...

I am also one for enjoying company, and as my wife promised me she'd work out with me, she hasn't, and it's really just been me sitting around and working out. Its OK most of the time because of the privacy and the peace and quiet...

But I feel like the money I've put in, and the limited amount of excercises that I can do really hinders the reason for buying it...

I'd hold off and go to the gym if you do multiple excercise routines or workouts.

I don't think I would find any use for one really, normal training does the job for me!

I have a friend that bought one and swears by it. Personally I also like company and being in a class or gym setting. But my friend it has really worked for him.

Personally i do not think that its worth the price. If your on a budget, buy a small personal weight set. Trust me, people overlook pushups, situps, and free weights. You can train just as well without paying 50$ a month at the gym.

My friend has a BowFlex and he really likes it...However, I don't think this machine is a replacement for a gym or free weights. It would be good for endurance training on off days I bet.

Sorry if I sound really stupid here - but what exactly is bowflex? What is it supposed to achieve?

A bowflex is an all in one multigym. Very nice if you can afford it. I want one!
