Default Review of Switch Fighter Clothing

Switch fighting is nothing new to the world of Martial Arts, nor is it new to the Boxing world. Boxing has taught us a great deal about being a switch fighter. Documentation dating back to the 1800’s shows us that great prize fighters switched from an orthodox or conventional fighting stance to what is now known as south-paw. During these early pugilist fights it wasn’t uncommon to see a competitor slammed to the mat, or caught with an elbow as opposed to a fist. Some called this “dirty boxing” yet the competitors accepted it. The acceptance of this lead to random “bare knuckle” bouts. Picture a boxer switching from conventional to south-paw and eventually from gloves to bare knuckles. These same fighters being either accused or praised for their dirty boxing set the stage for the Mixed Martial Artist.

Many of us were unaware of the history of the switch fighter. Some believe it stems from the curiosity of which Martial Art is the best. When this question arose we noticed more and more fighters training and being versed in multiple styles of the fighting arts. These Mixed Martial Arts matches began and the fighters became more diversified, the definition of a switch fighter developed even greater.

I meet with Jensen, one of the Co-founders of Switch Fighter Clothing Company, at the NAMMAE. He told me about how they got the name and the history behind the name. Then he told me that one of their visions for this clothing line is to make it more appealing to the public. They wanted to create a clothing line that you can wear out casually. Unlike their big named rivals such as, Tapout and Warrior Wear, where most of their designs provokes a glance of caution to people around the wearer. Or become a target of discussion for groups of MMArtist of whether the wearer is truly in training or just another false intimidating dreamer. Switch Fighter makes sure that their designs are humble, yet still appealing to the MMA public. They encourage the true fighters out there to keep doing what they do.

Currently, they are only selling men and women apparel, and some accessories. Fight gear will be discussed furthermore and might take off with this company in the future. Both men and women T-shirts start at $19.99 and sweater start at $59.99. And both beanie and hat are $19.99.

To see the different apparels that are offered please visit: Switch Fighter Clothing Co.
