I used to have trouble gagging with a mouthguard. What I did was trim a little off the back edges. It was past my wisdom teeth and that's what was causing most of the problems.

I use a shock doctor when I train and it’s been the most comfortable mouth guard I have ever used. It sticks to the top of your teeth so breathing through the mouth is easy if necessary. But also works excellent when you get hit. It is also pretty small so it doesn’t take up your entire mouth.

Default Mouthguard choices

I find that molded mouthguards are better for me, but you can browse through these. Shock Doctor usually puts out some pretty great stuff.
