The best way to do this is 5 minute walk at around 3.8 on the treadmill. then 2 minutes at 4.8. then 1 minute at 5.8. then 30 sec. at 6.8. repeat 2 to 5 times depending on how much you can handle. Beginners definitely only do this 3 times. slowly work your way up to 5. Once this becaomes relatively easy at the end stay running at 6.8 for a full 5 minutes and the cool down for two minutes at 3.0. Works great for burning fat.
