Default Ways around butterfly gaurd

i fuckin love bjj and think its biggest asset in mma, an i have been practicing bjj for bout 6 months now (not all with pro assistance) and every time i come up against an andvanced bjj practitioner i get dominated from the biginning because they have a good butterfly gaurd.

What is the best way around the butterfly gaurd and how do u resist being caught in it?
i was thinking bout going straight for ankle/leg lock, would that work?

it MIGHT- but no--- thats NOT your answer...

for 6 months you need to TRAIN-- you gotta always try to PASS -- always

so, if they are playing butterfly, you gotta train passing, there are agility passes, technique passes... but going into ankle lock?? its real low technique for 6 months of training... you should stay away from ankle locks until your game gets better and you advance, doing straight ankle locks to beat something as detailed and advanced as butterfly will NOT help you advance.

If you go to a school- train passing
if you don't find a school or watch a lot of videos-- of REAL black belts and purple belts

also- start trying to play butterfly- you will understand it better

good luck- keep training- bjj will continue to open up to you
