I don't know many.

Applying pressure to the insides of the legs with the elbows and pushing down on their stomach and trying to slide your legs through.

I'm a real noob to BJJ and that's all we have been taught so far.

Ive been training bbj for about a year now and I think the best way to get out of a closed gaurd is to apply the can opener (mark coleman) and they will ether have to open there gaurd or tap out. You can also stack up high and if they know what they are doing they will go for an armbar...Quickly pull ur arm out and go to side control.

its always important that when your pushing their knee down to pass you keep your weight on your ass. you always gotta have that balance or else you can get sweeped easily

no way.. its just a disadvantage for yourself because neck cranks arent really considered a technique theres always a way around it. either way though your just spending a lot of energy on that neck crank which could easily result in your wearing yourself out and giving up position
