Default Audley harrison - career over?

So Britains Olympic Gold Medal winner from 2000 Audley Harrison lost for the 2nd time yesterday - this time to Dominick Guinn on points. Does anyone think this is the end of Harrisons career? I think we have seen the best of this guy long ago.

Did Audley Harrison EVER have a career?

Yeah ok the guy won gold at the olympics - but other than that he never really beat anyone of note - just jorneymen average fighters.

I think the British media have just made him out to be something he is not. Most people have probably never heard of him outside the UK.

I'm not from the UK, so I haven't really heard of him like phatsam said. I didn't even know he won the Gold Medal at the olympics.

LOL I guessed that Thats a bad habit the British media have - they build people up just to knock them down. Audley Harrison was said to be a worldbeater when in reality he was a VERY average boxer - now he isnt achieveing what the press built him up to be he gets slaughtered. I feel sorry for the guy.

If he was just average, how did he win the Olympic gold medal? Was the competition lack luster? Or was there some sort of cheating involved? Do tell...

I've never heard of this guy either, but it seems like everyone is saying he sucks. I guess the competition in the Olympic boxing matches were bad. To be honest, I didn't even know they had boxing in the Olympics...or any contact sport (other then Hockey) for that matter...

Nobody's even heard of him, he was made out to be "The next Lewis" by the British Media. When in reality like someone else said he's merely average. I can't see him ever doing very much with his career, he's made alot of money out of it. I think he should be honest with himself and call it quits after his loss.

I think he's fighting Skelton in December for the British title.

That fight Harrsion had against Danny Williams was abysmal, I ended up falling asleep.

Also the second Skelton vs Williams fight when Skelton was trying to Box like Ray Leonard, that made me laugh. Worked though.

He showed good quality in the Olympics, I reckon he had great potential. Even Holyfield thought he would be the next big thing.

Supposedly though he's a really weak puncher, so he could look great in the amateur ranks punching people in the head and landing points without hurting them.

Comparing amateur boxing to the pro game is not an easy thing to do.
I have been questioning Harrison's fighting instincts for years to be honest, but I do not see why he should be deserving the hatred of the majority of "boxing fans" he is getting.
There are boxers around that are much more deserving than him.
