Boxers make so much money in Boxing, why would they want to go to MMA? That is why you never seen a pure boxer go into MMA. Yet Belfort, Couture and others took Boxing before they ever entered MMA. But to answer that question asked about if a Pro Boxer would do well in MMA agsint a average MMA fighter, let me again respost this:

Butterbean = 9 wins and 3 losses in MMA. Not bad for a over weight over the hill Pro Boxer who not in the same league as Tyson or Jones.

Marcus Davis = 10 wins and 3 losses in MMA. Not bad for a boxer who never made it to the top ranks.

Jeremy Williams = 2 Wins no Losses in MMA. Debuted in December 2006 in MMA.

CASE CLOSE!!!!!!

Jeremy Williams was a top ranking Boxer when he was boxing. He never won a major Heavyweight title but he is the most skillfull high ranking boxer to ever step foot into MMA. Alot of people will finally shut their mouths once and all because of him. And I have to say, these people are getting really annoying already
