One thing i really suggest is squats. What i do is put on a medium amount of weight, usually 135 pounds. Then do very quick bursts up and down, make sure you have a good posture. Go all the way to the ground each time. Trust me, if you can walk the next day then you are in great shape. These really helped me build my lower body, and i really feel a difference.
