However, if you match up a great boxer with a decent - mediocre MMA fighter, I think the MMA fighter would get punished. The boxer would be to quick against a submission fighter in my opinion.

However, if you set up a good MMA fighter, he'd work wonders against any boxer. That's just my opinion. Boxers aren't trained for the type of fighting MMA does, and MMA is used to jabs, punches, etc (stand up).

You can't really compare the two, its like apples and oranges.
