Karate has its place when you are just starting it gives you a good foundation for future arts that you would consder to participate. Muay thai and boxing you shold try it also or even sanshou a kickboxing art with wrestling. And never forget to do Judo or BJJ if you could do both then do so. I like Judo, i played for my college before it does gives you the conditioning that you will need in mma, you get to used of slams and everything on the ground plus trains you to be explosive.
